Meltwater is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Level 3/4) to scale and evolve core platform services enabling product teams to move faster with reliability. You will own backend systems, migrate JS to TypeScript, and lead performance and architectural improvements in a high-traffic environment.

You will collaborate with product, frontend, and UX teams, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute to platform evolution.

Formación

• Experience building and maintaining backend services in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with high-traffic or business-critical systems.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs (GraphQL a plus).
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques (caching, async processing).
• Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Jasmine).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred).
• Experience monitoring, debugging, and operating production systems.
• Comfort working in distributed, cross-functional teams.

Responsabilidades

• Build, maintain, and improve backend services that support company-wide functionality.
• Develop production-grade Node.js services using JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Migrate existing JavaScript services to TypeScript to improve scalability and maintainability.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks (caching, async processing, latency).
• Reduce technical debt and simplify service architecture for long-term efficiency.
• Improve system observability, monitoring, and operational readiness.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems and ensure reliability.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and UX teams to deliver scalable features.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, service design, and platform evolution.
