Zusammenfassung

Zillow Group is seeking a Senior Specialist in Software Engineering, Backend, to design, build, and run scalable backend services powering Zillow’s applications. You will lead complex server-side development, improve performance, and collaborate across product, data, and infra teams to support millions of users.

You will design secure, highly available services in cloud/container environments, implement best practices, and mentor peers to raise engineering standards.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with backend focus.
• Experience designing and operating RESTful or gRPC services in production.
• Hands-on with cloud platforms and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with relational and non-relational data stores and messaging/streaming.

Aufgaben

• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Lead design and implementation for performant, observable distributed systems.
• Collaborate with product, data, and infra teams to translate requirements into solutions.
• Uphold engineering best practices: testing, code review, CI/CD, instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive systemic improvements.
• Mentor engineers through code/design reviews and knowledge sharing.
