Zillow is seeking a Senior Specialist, Software Engineering, Systems to design, build, and operate scalable cloud-native infrastructure that supports thousands of Zillow applications. You will automate deployments, drive reliability, and partner with product and engineering teams to improve performance in a microservices environment.

This teleworker role lets you work from anywhere in Mexico with occasional travel to Mexico City for events.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 8+ years in systems engineering, SRE, DevOps, or related roles
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and IaC tools like Terraform
• 6+ years in software engineering or related domains for large-scale apps
• Experience with Python, Go, Java or similar for tooling
• Experience with observability practices and incident response
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable platforms
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation
• Experience using AI to build software/workflows for infra and productivity
• Equivalent education/experience accepted

Responsabilidades

• Improve security, resilience, and compliance of infrastructure by implementing controls and reviews.
• Partner with engineering teams to design operable services and mentor on operational excellence.
• Define non-functional requirements (availability, scalability, resiliency) and translate into designs.
• Monitor, optimize, and provide observability for system performance and cost.
• Architect and maintain cloud-native infrastructure for large-scale distributed apps.
• Lead CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and configuration management to improve reliability and speed.
• Drive improvements in monitoring, alerting, and incident response across systems.
• Mentor engineers on systems design and DevOps practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues with RCA and preventive actions.
• Lead design and automation for cloud-native platform services.
