Fitch Ratings is seeking a Backend Engineer to join our New York team, focusing on scalable Java/Spring Boot and Python-based services. You will design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and data services across SQL/NoSQL databases in a cloud environment (AWS).

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5+ years of hands‑on full stack software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) and/or Python (FastAPI).
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and working with distributed systems.
• Strong database skills (SQL; PL/SQL or optimization a plus).
• Understanding of microservices, event‑driven architecture, scalability and performance.
• Experience with testing frameworks and automated test suites.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS) and modern development tooling.
• Ability to work in agile, collaborative environments.
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools and AI/ML integration is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure backend services and APIs.
• Build backend services using Java/Spring Boot and/or Python/FastAPI.
• Develop and integrate APIs and data services with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and data/engineering teams to deliver solutions.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and improve performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Ensure code quality with automated testing and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot issues and optimize applications for reliability and speed.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices for secure deployments.
• Contribute to engineering standards and tooling improvements.
