Job summary

Lyft in CDMX is seeking a motivated mid-career Android engineer to join the Luxury team, building features for Black, Black SUV and other upmarket modes where quality is uncompromising. You will own features end-to-end and collaborate with engineering, product, data science, analytics, and operations to drive impact.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Experience building high-performance, consumer-facing Android apps at scale.
• Strong experience with Kotlin.
• Experience in reactive programming with RxJava, specifically using Coroutine and Flow for asynchronous programming.
• Strong understanding of clean architecture principles and maintainable code practices.
• Experience in writing robust unit tests using JUnit and Mockito.
• Familiar with building modern, responsive user interfaces using Jetpack Compose and declarative patterns.

Responsibilities

• Help establish roadmap and architecture based on technology and understanding of customer needs.
• Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge.
• Share your knowledge by giving brown bags, tech talks, and promoting appropriate tech and engineering best practices.
• Can help lead large projects from idea to positive execution.
• Unblock, support and communicate with internal partners to achieve results.
