Job summary

Lyft in Mexico City is seeking a motivated mid-career Android mobile engineer to build app experiences, UIs, and infrastructure for Lyft and Alcove. You will focus on high-performance, consumer-facing Android apps, using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and reactive programming to deliver quality features to riders and drivers.

You will collaborate across engineering, product, data science, and operations, own parts of the roadmap, write tests, participate in code reviews, and help drive projects from

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong Kotlin background and Android UI at scale.
• Deep understanding of clean architecture and maintainable code.
• Experience with RxJava, Coroutine and Flow for async programming.
• Proficient with Jetpack Compose and declarative UI patterns.
• Experience writing robust tests using JUnit and Mockito.

Responsibilities

• Help establish roadmap and architecture based on technology and customer needs.
• Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Share knowledge through brown bags, tech talks, and best practices.
• Lead large projects from idea to positive execution.
