Job summary

AstraZeneca is seeking a Senior AI Operations Engineer to lead hands-on platform operations for AI/ML infrastructure built on Azure and AWS. You will design, build, and instrument observability, drive automation, and mentor L1/L2 engineers in a three-tier operations model.

You will own incident response, post-mortems, and AI-augmented tooling to improve runbook quality and reduce toil. The role emphasizes engineering discipline and collaboration in a dynamic biopharma environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Hands-on experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or platform operations engineer at scale.
• Strong observability and telemetry design with modern tooling.
• Scripting in Python and Bash to build robust tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain the centralised observability layer across platforms.
• Architect automation and AI-augmented operations tooling.
• Lead complex incident response, perform root‑cause analysis, and post‑mortems.
• Contribute to platform readiness and operational handover processes.
