Jobgether partners with a client in Mexico to fill a SAP Basis Team Lead role. The position oversees the technical administration of a global SAP landscape, focusing on security, reliability, scalability, and production readiness across SAP S/4HANA Cloud, BTP, Cloud Identity Services, and related technologies.

The role requires strong leadership, collaboration with cybersecurity, IAM, and application teams, and the ability to coordinate with partners and vendors in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of experience in SAP Basis, SAP technical administration, or SAP platform operations in enterprise environments.
• 3+ years of experience in team leadership or workstream leadership.
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition or RISE with SAP is preferred.
• Strong understanding of SAP system landscapes, transport management, release coordination, and production support.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SAP Basis Team Lead based in Mexico.

This role leads the technical administration and operational governance of a complex, global SAP landscape.
You’ll be responsible for keeping SAP environments secure, reliable, scalable, and ready to support critical business operations.
The position spans SAP S/4HANA Cloud, BTP, Cloud Identity Services, Commerce Cloud, Cloud ALM, and related enterprise applications.
You’ll work closely with cybersecurity, infrastructure, architecture, application, and business teams to deliver resilient platform services.
The role also provides technical leadership across integrations, identity, monitoring, releases, transformations, and production operations.
You’ll coordinate internal teams, implementation partners, managed service providers, and SAP support organizations in a fast-moving environment.

Accountabilities

• Lead the SAP Basis function, including internal team members, contractors, and service providers, with responsibility for technical operations, governance, priorities, and support.

• Oversee administration and operational support for SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP BTP, SAP Cloud Identity Services, SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Signavio, SAP GRC, and related SAP technologies.

• Ensure the availability, performance, reliability, scalability, and security of development, testing, quality, training, pre-production, and production environments.

• Coordinate cloud tenant provisioning, system refreshes, maintenance activities, release schedules, patching, upgrades, and operational readiness with SAP and external service providers.

• Establish and govern SAP transport, release, and change management processes, including sequencing, deployment controls, cutover planning, and production release support.

• Lead technical identity and access enablement, including SSO, SAP IAS/IPS, Microsoft Entra ID integration, technical users, certificates, and authentication policies.

• Partner with cybersecurity, SAP Security, IAM, and application teams to support secure role deployment, privileged access, audit readiness, and access governance.

• Oversee SAP integrations and connectivity, including APIs, middleware, certificates, RFC, OData, REST, SOAP, IDoc interfaces, and troubleshooting across SAP and non-SAP environments.

• Lead monitoring and operational readiness using SAP Cloud ALM and related tools, covering job and interface monitoring, alerting, incident response, and root-cause analysis.

• Support SAP Commerce Cloud technical operations, including environment management, deployments, configuration coordination, monitoring, integrations, and release readiness.

• Provide technical leadership throughout SAP implementation and transformation initiatives, including environment preparation, testing, data migration support, cutover execution, and hypercare.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, security, applications, and business teams to design and operate secure and scalable SAP platform services.

• Manage work delivered by internal resources, implementation partners, and managed service providers, including priorities, deliverables, service levels, and escalations.

• Develop and maintain technical standards, operational procedures, runbooks, support models, and knowledge-transfer documentation.

• When assigned, support IT engineering and service delivery for manufacturing locations, helping maintain reliable connectivity, data flows, and technology services during organizational transitions.

• Participate in designing and implementing technology solutions that support manufacturing operations, supply chain processes, enterprise systems, and broader digital transformation initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• 8+ years of experience in SAP Basis, SAP technical administration, or SAP platform operations within enterprise environments.

• 3+ years of experience in team leadership, technical leadership, or workstream leadership.

• Hands-on experience supporting SAP S/4HANA; experience with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition or RISE with SAP is preferred.

• Strong understanding of SAP system landscapes, client and tenant management, transport management, release coordination, and production support.

• Experience with SAP cloud technologies such as BTP, Cloud ALM, Cloud Identity Services, Signavio, GRC, Business AI, and Commerce Cloud is preferred.

• Experience integrating SAP environments with Microsoft Entra ID, SSO solutions, identity provisioning, and enterprise IAM platforms.

• Strong knowledge of SAP security concepts, technical users, authorization dependencies, certificates, connectivity, and segregation-of-duties considerations.

• Experience supporting SAP integrations through middleware, APIs, RFC, OData, REST, SOAP, IDocs, and related connectivity technologies.

• Experience with SAP monitoring, job scheduling, interface monitoring, incident management, root-cause analysis, and performance troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with cloud operations, managed services, vendor governance, and coordination with SAP support organizations.

• Experience with large-scale ERP transformations, acquisitions, carve-outs, or transition service agreement exits is advantageous.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate independently in complex, fast-paced environments.

• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and guide cross-functional teams involving business leaders, IT professionals, implementation partners, and vendors.

• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate technical risks, issues, and decisions into clear business outcomes.

• Ability to support global operations, including occasional travel to U.S. locations and international manufacturing facilities.

• Flexibility to work additional hours when required by project timelines, global coordination, SAP maintenance windows, production incidents, or go-live activities.
