NTT DATA, Inc. is looking for a SAP BASIS Team Lead to guide SAP Basis teams in Mexico. Responsibilities include overseeing SAP implementations, migrations, upgrades, and providing cloud strategy insights. This role requires substantial experience with SAP S/4 HANA and a strong understanding of cloud environments.

Overview

NTT DATA is seeking a SAP BASIS Team Lead in Mexico (MX-MEX). The role involves leading SAP Basis teams to support SAP implementations, migrations, upgrades and operations, and providing advisory on solution design, performance tuning, and cloud strategy.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

• Automate routine manual processes to increase operational efficiency.
• Lead and drive solution discussions with business stakeholders and IT personnel.
• Design and develop interfaces between SAP and non‑SAP systems.
• Manage OS/DB/Platform/Cloud migrations in multiple projects.
• Implement full life‑cycle SAP projects using recognized methodologies.
• Provide expertise on SAP Business Suite (ERP, SRM, CRM, PLM, APO), NetWeaver stack (AS‑Java) and BOBJ administration.
• Advise customers on optimal execution of SAP migrations and operations on Public/Private Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
• Deliver Basis support for S/4 HANA, C/4, BW/4 HANA conversions, upgrades, migrations, RISE and OS/DB conversions.
• Provide high‑level DBA and SAP Basis support for HANA DB, including implementation, upgrade, administration, operations and performance management.
• Install and configure SAP S/4HANA, Fiori, PO, SAP CPI, Cloud Connector, Solution Manager, and Data Hub solutions within major cloud IaaS platforms.
• Optimize SAP performance for S4/HANA, Fiori and SAP HANA databases in cloud environments.
• Understand end‑to‑end processes and recommend improvements.
• Support technical architecture and development teams during migrations and upgrades.
• Lead discussions, present technical concepts, and interact with client management across multiple countries.
• Administer SAP databases (plan upgrades, maintain security, performance, backup/restore, storage, problem resolution).
• Participate in planning and implementation of SAP system upgrades.
• Manage non‑HANA DB administration and operations (Oracle, MSSQL, Sybase, MaxDB) with at least 2 non‑HANA DB exposures.
• Contribute to SAP technology practice through knowledge sharing and solution development.
• Showcase expertise in cloud infrastructure architecture, including compute, storage, networking, high‑availability, disaster recovery, and monitoring.
• Develop SAP S/4HANA technical architecture and cloud hosting strategies within hybrid and multi‑cloud landscapes.
• Design and deploy SAP solutions on major public cloud IaaS platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Provide implementation consulting for Single Sign‑On solutions in SAP landscapes, including HANA and BOBJ.
• Lead ad‑hoc meetings for customer delivery and drive continuous improvement in SAP technology services.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of SAP S/4 HANA and SAP ECC Basis experience.
• One full life‑cycle SAP implementation experience.
• Experience with Azure or other hyperscalers and relevant certifications.
• Strong knowledge of HANA DB administration and performance tuning.
• Experience managing OS/DB/Platform/Cloud migrations (2‑3 projects).
• Knowledge of SAP’s NetWeaver stack, BOBJ, and Integration tools.
• Strong communication skills; ability to present technical content to diverse audiences.
• Ability to travel at least 80 % of the time.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge or certification in SAP Activate.
• Experience with S/4 HANA technical architecture for cloud hosting.
• Experience with SaaS or PaaS solution design.
