Job summary

Syngenta seeks a Sales Manager – Passive Greenhouse (PGH) to lead the Mexico PGH business in Guadalajara, Puebla, Culiacán or Querétaro. Translate strategy into clear commercial priorities and develop a high-performing team to deliver sustainable growth.

You will drive sales performance, forecast accuracy and cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Product Specialists, R&D, Supply and Finance to meet objectives, while focusing on customer development and market opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proven commercial and people leadership experience within vegetable seeds, protected crops or a closely related agricultural business.
• Strong understanding of commercial management, customer development, portfolio management and demand creation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop professional teams.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen with experience building and executing business plans.
• Ability to operate effectively in a complex, cross-functional and matrix organization.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management capabilities.
• High customer and market orientation, with consistent field presence.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and engage a high-performing PGH commercial team, with clear priorities, expectations and accountability.
• Build a culture of trust, transparency, collaboration and open communication.
• Coach and develop talent while strengthening capabilities and succession.
• Drive strong cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Product Specialists, R&D, Supply, Finance and other key functions.
• Develop and own short-, medium- and long-term business plans, connecting commercial targets, portfolio, market opportunities and customer needs.
• Anticipate market changes, competitive movements, business risks and portfolio gaps, translating them into scenarios and action plans.
• Use data, market intelligence and customer insights to support sound business decisions and resource allocation.
• Ensure robust forecasting and demand planning aligned with market reality and business commitments.
• Take ownership of business performance and deliver against sales, profitability, market share and strategic objectives.
• Translate priorities into clear responsibilities, KPIs, operating routines and consistent follow-up.
• Identify performance gaps early and drive timely corrective actions.
• Maintain transparent communication on performance, risks and opportunities, ensuring clear accountability and no surprises.
• Maintain strong field presence and direct connection with growers, customers, distributors and key market stakeholders.
• Build a deep understanding of customer needs, competitors, technologies and market dynamics.
• Drive demand creation, customer development and adoption of strategic products and new portfolio solutions.
• Connect market insights with Marketing, Product Specialists and R&D to strengthen current execution and future portfolio development.
