Job summary

Ford Irapuato is seeking a highly skilled Rotor Process Engineer to lead rotor balancing and aluminum die casting for the eMotor project. You will manage balancing (static/dynamic), optimize HPDC and melting parameters, and drive quality via simulation, NDT, and metallurgical analyses.

You will implement SPC strategies, maintain tooling, and report process capability while collaborating with Production, Maintenance, Quality, PTME, OEM, and suppliers to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Materials/Metallurgy, Mechatronics, or related).
• Strong rotor balancing (static/dynamic) and aluminum die casting experience.
• Experience with mold/tooling design and maintenance for aluminum casting.

Responsibilities

• Lead rotor balance process control (static/dynamic; two-plane balancing) ensuring balance targets are met.
• Optimize HPDC and induction melting parameters to minimize porosity and defects.
• Set up and interpret aluminum casting simulations (MAGMA/ProCAST) for fill, flow, and solidification.
• Manage casting molds/tools lifecycle and preventive maintenance.
• Perform NDT (X-ray) interpretation, metallography, and alloy analysis.
• Implement and maintain GD&T verification and density checks; ensure rotor quality.
• Train operators on rotor balance, die casting, gauges, and reaction plans.
• Develop and update DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and process documentation.
• Lead SPC sampling, control charts, Cp/Cpk, and monthly capability reports.
• Monitor KPIs (FTT, RTY) and drive scrap reduction via root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, PTME, OEM and suppliers.
