Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer, specializing in Smart Grids, for a fully remote role in Mexico. You will design and optimize grid solutions, assess performance data, and collaborate with international teams on modernization projects.

You should bring 5+ years in power systems and strong knowledge of SCADA, protection, and renewables integration. The position offers remote work flexibility and global project exposure.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems or Smart Grids.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in power systems engineering with a significant focus on smart grid technologies.
• Proven experience in design or implementation of smart grid components or systems.
• Strong understanding of power system analysis, protection, and control.
• Knowledge of communication protocols used in SCADA and smart grid applications.
• Familiarity with renewable energy integration challenges and solutions.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting technical information.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect smart grid solutions including DER integration and microgrids.
• Develop strategies for smart metering and demand-side management.
• Analyze power system performance data to identify improvements.
• Specify communication protocols and network architectures for smart grid apps.
• Collaborate with utility partners, software developers, and hardware vendors.
• Evaluate new technologies and standards for smart grids and renewables.
• Develop technical specifications, proposals, and implementation plans.
• Provide technical guidance on grid modernization initiatives.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses.
• Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices.
