MagmaLabs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong Node.js and TypeScript expertise for our fully remote team. You will own backend architecture, design scalable APIs, and drive performance across healthtech, e‑commerce, and fintech clients in Latin America.

The role emphasizes leadership in design decisions, code quality, testing, and DevOps practices, with a focus on secure, reliable systems and strong collaboration in a remote-first setup.

Formación

• Minimum 7 years of software development experience, with 5+ years backend in Node.js.
• Strong TypeScript or modern JavaScript skills and backend framework experience.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, RESTful/GraphQL APIs, and Docker/Kubernetes.
• CI/CD, automated testing (Jest), and secure backend practices.
• Remote-friendly, strong English communication, Agile experience.

Responsabilidades

• Lead architecture and evolving backend systems using Node.js (TypeScript preferred).
• Design and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs with versioning and tests.
• Optimize PostgreSQL performance, indexing, and query tuning.
• Implement asynchronous processing and event-driven workflows.
• Integrate with third‑party services with reliability and observability.
• Ensure code quality via reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Collaborate with product, design, and other engineers for end‑to‑end solutions.
• Contribute to deployment pipelines (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD).
• Improve production reliability with monitoring and tracing.
• Mentor teammates and drive technical decisions independently.
• Maintain architectural documentation and operational guidelines.
