Job summary

Higher Options is seeking a Senior Accountant / Financial Controller to support the financial operations of a U.S.-based hospitality and events group. You will own QuickBooks Online records, classify transactions, and prepare monthly statements across multiple entities.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in accounting, strong GAAP knowledge, and the ability to analyze fluctuations, ensuring accurate reporting and timely close, while working remotely with U.S.-based teams.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience with multi-entity accounting and GAAP.
• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online and financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks Online.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements across entities.
• Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts; manage intercompany transactions.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Support payroll review and related reporting across entities.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting needs.
• Ensure inventory, COGS, fixed assets, and GL accuracy.
• Support tax compliance and coordination with external accountants.
• Improve workflows and SOPs; provide financial insights to leadership.
