Bluelight is a leading software consultancy; they seek a senior backend-focused developer in a remote capacity working across the Americas. You will build low-latency services in AWS, design scalable RESTful APIs, and integrate with external services while collaborating with frontend teammates.

Required are 5+ years of backend experience, Node.js/TypeScript proficiency, and strong SQL with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB. Excellent ownership and client-focused delivery are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional software development experience (backend-focused).
• Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS.
• Experience building scalable RESTful APIs; SDK integrations.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB including RLS and multi-tenant setups.
• SQL experience and schema migrations (node-postgres, node-pg-migrate).
• Professional experience with React and testing practices.
• CI/CD creation and maintenance; overlap US business hours.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality backend services with a focus on performance.
• Contribute to frontend work when needed in a full-stack capacity.
• Collaborate on secure multi-tenant architectures and data models.
• Integrate with external services via SDKs and APIs.
