Placements24 is seeking a seasoned General Accountant to join a fully remote team in Mexico. You will own the full accounting cycle, produce financial statements, and ensure compliance in a scalable environment.

The role demands independence, strong ERP proficiency, and a proactive approach to internal controls. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience, a degree in Accounting or Finance, and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 5 years of comprehensive accounting experience.
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, SAP Business One).
• Strong knowledge of Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (NIFs).
• Independently manage remote work with strong time management.
• Excellent Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivots).
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Analytical and able to provide financial insights.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle: AP, AR, GL, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Collaborate with external auditors during year-end closing.
• Develop and refine accounting policies as the company scales.
• Leverage ERP systems to streamline processes.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Provide financial insights to management for decisions.
• Keep accurate, organized financial records for audits.
