Mercor is seeking a Web Development Expert to join as a frontend engineer on a fully remote contract basis. The role requires 3–8 years of web development experience, strong HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and fluent English.

You will review and reproduce web pages with pixel-perfect accuracy, test responsiveness across viewports, and provide evidence-based justifications for design decisions. Remote work from anywhere.

Formación

• 3–8 years of professional web development experience in frontend or full-stack work.
• Fluency across web eras, including legacy layouts.
• Strong command of handwritten HTML and CSS: semantic markup, flexbox, grid, media queries, and legacy layouts.
• Browser DevTools proficiency.
• Command-line comfort: static local server, unzipping archives, resolving broken image references.
• Enough JavaScript to read scripts and understand DOM impact.
• Professional written English for task justification.

Responsabilidades

• Render a reference page and two candidate replications at 1920×1080 and judge which is closer, state by state.
• Diff visual fidelity in detail: box model, typography, color, borders, asset handling, z-order, and overflow.
• Read source of both attempts and grade construction quality, distinguishing genuinely correct from visually correct only at one viewport.
• Test responsiveness and identify defects like a nav bar collapsing at smaller viewports.
• Provide evidence-based, detailed justifications for every preference.
• Use the escape hatch to distinguish tasks that cannot be completed from those that are hard.
