Mercor is seeking a Web Development Expert for a fully remote contract role billed at $90 per hour. The candidate will bring deep frontend skills, strong HTML/CSS, and JavaScript literacy to evaluate visual fidelity across responsive layouts and produce precise, evidence-based justifications for design decisions.

You should have 3–8 years of experience, fluency in English, and comfort with browser DevTools and command-line tasks. Prior experience with accessibility and semantic markup is a plus.

Formación

• 3-8 years of professional web development experience in frontend or full-stack work.
• Fluency across web eras, including legacy layouts.
• Command of hand-written HTML and CSS: semantic markup, flexbox, grid, media queries, legacy layouts.
• Browser DevTools as muscle memory.
• Command-line comfort: unzip archives, run static servers, fix broken images.
• Enough JavaScript to read scripts and understand DOM impact.
• Professional written English for task justification.

Responsabilidades

• Render a reference page and two candidate replications at 1920×1080, then judge closeness.
• Diff visual fidelity: box model, typography, color, borders, images, z-order, overflow.
• Read source and grade construction quality, distinguishing correct replication from look-alike.
• Test responsiveness; identify breakpoints where navigation collapses.
• Provide evidence-backed justifications for every preference with concrete examples.
• Use the escape hatch to distinguish truly broken tasks from hard ones.
