Job summary

Outlier is seeking experienced software engineers to act as QA coders, auditing AI-generated code and rating model responses. This freelance role is a 1099 contract with flexible, remote work from anywhere, including Latin America.

Rates can reach up to $34 USD/hr, with additional incentive-based earnings based on project impact. Applicants should have a BS in Computer Science, production-code experience, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a selective institution.
• Software engineering experience contributing to a live production codebase, ideally for a technology company.
• Ability to articulate complex concepts fluently in written and spoken English.
• Excellent attention to detail, including grammar, punctuation and style guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review AI-generated code and flag errors, inconsistencies, or quality issues using structured guidelines.
• Rate model responses across key dimensions to help improve output quality.
• Write clear, well-structured prompts that challenge AI models and push coding capabilities.
