Job summary

HSBC Global Service Center in Mexico City is seeking a Reconciliation Specialist to manage daily and monthly reconciliation activities, analyze discrepancies, and ensure accurate processing of transactions. The role requires strong Excel skills, knowledge of bank accounting, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.

You will prepare reconciliation reports for balance certification, support process improvements, and ensure compliance with SLAs and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
• Main Office packages: Excel (databases, formulas, pivot tables), Word, PowerPoint.
• Bank accounting - intermediate
• Knowledge of operational processes
• Experience with large databases in Excel
• Communication skills: written and verbal

Responsibilities

• Liaise with the bank to identify discrepancies in account reconciliations.
• Perform operational-accounting reconciliations and ensure compliance with guidelines, SLAs, and legal requirements.
• Identify and resolve exceptions in operational processes to mitigate risks.
• Prepare reconciliation reports for balance certification.
• Respond to internal/external information requests.
• Participate in projects to design reconciliations and test new processes.
• Support team objectives and improvement plans.
• Suggest improvements to reduce processing times and improve quality.
• Proactively communicate risk issues.
• Cross-check reconciliations.
