Job summary

Molex in Mexico seeks a Quality Superintendent to lead the Quality organization across manufacturing operations, driving quality excellence and continuous improvement. The role focuses on building a high-performance Quality team and embedding robust quality practices on the shop floor.

You will coach Quality Engineers, partner with Production, Engineering, and global Quality teams to reduce defects, improve yields, and ensure customer satisfaction through measurable results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of Quality experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Leadership experience leading Quality Engineers or technical personnel.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, tools, and root cause analysis methodologies.
• Experience improving manufacturing metrics such as yield, scrap, throughput.
• Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Quality Engineering team with clear goals, ownership, accountability, and performance expectations.
• Drive improvements in key quality and operational metrics (Scrap, Rework, FPY, RTY, COPQ, quality incidents, quality escapes).
• Maintain a strong presence on the production floor to support manufacturing teams and resolve quality and production issues.
• Use structured problem-solving and data-driven decision-making to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations to remove quality constraints impacting production output and efficiency.
• Support NPI, product transfers, process changes, and production ramp-up activities.

Our Team

This role requires a strong presence on the manufacturing floor, where you will partner closely with Production, Engineering, Operations, and global Quality teams to solve complex challenges, improve productivity, and ensure customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for leading and developing a team of Quality Engineers while driving measurable improvements in quality, yield, throughput, and overall manufacturing performance.

Experience with optical fiber, fiber optic cables, cable assemblies, or related manufacturing processes is highly preferred.

What You Will Do

• Lead, coach, and develop the Quality Engineering team by establishing clear goals, ownership, accountability, and performance expectations.
• Drive improvements in key quality and operational metrics, including Scrap, Rework, First Pass Yield (FPY), Rolled Throughput Yield (RTY), Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), customer quality incidents, and quality escapes.
• Maintain a strong presence on the production floor to support manufacturing teams and drive the resolution of critical quality and production issues.
• Utilize structured problem-solving methodologies and data-driven decision-making to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations to eliminate quality constraints impacting production output and efficiency.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI), product transfers, process changes, and production ramp-up activities.
• Collaborate effectively with customers and global Quality organizations, including manufacturing facilities in Asia and Europe.
• Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives and ensure commitments translate into measurable results.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, operational excellence, and customer focus.
• Drive compliance with Molex quality standards, procedures, and business objectives.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

• 5+ years of Quality experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Previous leadership experience leading teams, supervising Quality Engineers, or managing technical personnel.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, quality tools, and root cause analysis methodologies.
• Experience improving manufacturing metrics such as yield, scrap, rework, throughput, and process capability.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and international teams.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience with optical fiber, fiber optic cable, cable assemblies, or related manufacturing processes.
• Customer-facing quality experience.
• Experience supporting global manufacturing organizations and international teams.
• Experience working with manufacturing facilities in Asia and Europe.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Experience applying statistical analysis and advanced quality management techniques.
• Experience leading Quality Engineers or other technical teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
