Job summary

Molex is seeking a Quality Superintendent to lead the Quality organization and drive excellence across manufacturing operations. You will guide a team of Quality Engineers, collaborate with Production, Engineering, and global Quality teams, and focus on improving yield, throughput, and customer satisfaction.

The role emphasizes on-floor leadership, structured problem solving, and the ability to sustain corrective actions while advancing continuous improvement initiatives at a global scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of Quality experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Leadership experience guiding Quality Engineers or technical staff.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems and root-cause analysis.
• Experience improving metrics such as yield, scrap, and throughput.
• Advanced English communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Quality Engineering team with clear goals, ownership, accountability, and performance expectations.
• Drive improvements in metrics like Scrap, Rework, FPY, RTY, COPQ and customer quality incidents.
• Maintain a strong presence on the production floor to support manufacturing teams and resolve issues.
• Use structured problem-solving and data-driven decision-making to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations to remove quality constraints on output and efficiency.
• Support New Product Introduction, product transfers, process changes, and ramp-ups.
• Collaborate with customers and global Quality teams, including facilities in Asia and Europe.
• Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives and translate commitments into results.
• Promote continuous improvement, accountability, and customer focus.
• Drive compliance with Molex quality standards, procedures, and business objectives.

Our Team

This role requires a strong presence on the manufacturing floor, where you will partner closely with Production, Engineering, Operations, and global Quality teams to solve complex challenges, improve productivity, and ensure customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for leading and developing a team of Quality Engineers while driving measurable improvements in quality, yield, throughput, and overall manufacturing performance.

Experience with optical fiber, fiber optic cables, cable assemblies, or related manufacturing processes is highly preferred.

What You Will Do

• Lead, coach, and develop the Quality Engineering team by establishing clear goals, ownership, accountability, and performance expectations.
• Drive improvements in key quality and operational metrics, including Scrap, Rework, First Pass Yield (FPY), Rolled Throughput Yield (RTY), Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), customer quality incidents, and quality escapes.
• Maintain a strong presence on the production floor to support manufacturing teams and drive the resolution of critical quality and production issues.
• Utilize structured problem-solving methodologies and data-driven decision-making to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations to eliminate quality constraints impacting production output and efficiency.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI), product transfers, process changes, and production ramp-up activities.
• Collaborate effectively with customers and global Quality organizations, including manufacturing facilities in Asia and Europe.
• Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives and ensure commitments translate into measurable results.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, operational excellence, and customer focus.
• Drive compliance with Molex quality standards, procedures, and business objectives.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

• 5+ years of Quality experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Previous leadership experience leading teams, supervising Quality Engineers, or managing technical personnel.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, quality tools, and root cause analysis methodologies.
• Experience improving manufacturing metrics such as yield, scrap, rework, throughput, and process capability.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and international teams.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience with optical fiber, fiber optic cable, cable assemblies, or related manufacturing processes.
• Customer-facing quality experience.
• Experience supporting global manufacturing organizations and international teams.
• Experience working with manufacturing facilities in Asia and Europe.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Experience applying statistical analysis and advanced quality management techniques.
• Experience leading Quality Engineers or other technical teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
