Job summary

FORVIA HELLA is a global automotive supplier seeking a Quality Specialist (SMT) to ensure COP compliance, lead process audits, and drive improvements in pre-production and assembly areas in Guadalajara.

You will work with production and engineering, monitor KPIs, support FMEA, CAPA and containment actions, and train staff to uphold quality standards. Proficiency in Excel and Minitab plus English communication with customers is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in SMT manufacturing processes, failure analysis, and Quality Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA).
• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Intermediate English proficiency for communication with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Experience in quality management, including FPY and scrap analysis, customer complaint handling, and quality KPI monitoring.
• Proficiency in Excel and Minitab for data analysis, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for escalation in case of non-compliance incl. monitoring of product and process compliance in the internal factory based on the quality specification documents and guidelines.
• Active support in the context of training and development of staff to ensure the necessary qualifications.
• Support risk analysis (FMEA) and initiate preventive measures with those responsibilities including effectiveness check.
• Maintenance/updating of the quality assurance plan for series production in alignment with manufacturing engineer / mechanical engineer (Control Plan, FMEA, Parts History List, etc.)
• Identify main contributors of quality deviations and risks and drive tasks out of the quality improvement plans (QIP); Supporting the implementation of measures in case of NQE/CLR-reduction activities in operations

Job Objective

Responsible quality specialist for pre-production and / or assembly area within the context of prescribed quality guidelines and instructions cross interfaces

Expert knowledge for production and process technologies, supports production in case of quality related tasks

Focus on process and system audit operational readiness by ensuring and complying with the legally mandated COP (conformity of production) requirements

Key interface in operation for internal and external quality improvements / activities and maintaining of improvement and quality assurance plans related to quality matters

Monitor and improve process capability and KPIs and follow up of implementation of containment / corrective actions

Driver for preventive and proactive quality tasks

Processing of production process related customer complaints as well as identifying quality problems to initiate corrective measures

Duties and Responsibilities

5. 5 Identify main contributors of quality deviations and risks and drive tasks out of the quality improvement plans (QIP); Supporting the implementation of measures in case of NQE/CLR-reduction activities in operations
6. 6 Transferring the content of Control Plan into plant specific tools, assuring sufficient information of those responsible, checking correct application and reviewing/updating the Control Plan based on customer’s feedback, internal performance and risk assessment (e. g. P-FMEA)
7. 7 Statistical evaluation of quality key performance indicators to identify possibilities of product- / process-optimization in case of internal and external claim management in serial production
8. 8 Supporting DMAIC-activities cross department interfaces related to production and process technologies
9. 9 Preparation of relevant department in case of external / internal systems- and process-audits, manage deviations by observation of corrective actions
10. 10 Responsible for regular execution of product audits; evaluation of defined activities in case of product deviations
11. 11 Responsible for COP and requalification tests; tracking of defined activities in case of product deviations; Arrangement, coordination, monitoring of internal sorting and reworking activities in agreement with those responsibilities
12. 12 Assessing and validation the impact of process and product changes in production
13. 13 Assessing supervise the validity of defined specific product- and process-boundary samples. Escalation to responsible department for the initiating of corrective actions if necessary
14. 14 Perform statistic evaluation for serial process- / product-inspections
15. 15 Responsible for the effectiveness of production process corrective actions, incl. escalation in case of ineffectiveness
16. 16Supervise the reworking of parts, sub-assemblies and devices as well as the buy-passing / alternative production processes
17. 17 Observation of needed MSA-studies and development / coordination of corrective actions if necessary
18. 18 Perform Q-document reviews; quality related documents in production are actual and consistent

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
