Job summary

Cooper Standard is seeking a Plant Quality Engineer in Torreón to oversee quality planning and control for new and existing programs. You will ensure control plans, PFMEA, PPAP, inspection, gauging, and GD&T align with customer and Cooper Standard requirements, ensuring product quality for internal and external customers.

The role interfaces with Design, Program, Manufacturing teams and suppliers, leads PPAP submissions, supports launches, and drives continuous improvement using Lean and SPC

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or CQE certification or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of automotive industry experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Knowledge of automotive quality customer requirements.
• Ability to complete PPAP packages to customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Leads Quality Engineering for new and current programs.
• Interacts with Design, Program, and Account teams.
• Develops and implements quality documents including control plans.
• Manages PPAP packages and customer liaison for launches.
• Leads Gauge R&R studies and process improvements.
• Ensures compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO standards.
• Participates in audits and training of new manufacturing associates.
• Drives continuous improvement and data-driven decisions.
