Job summary

Cooper Standard Automotive, Inc. is seeking a Plant Quality Engineer to lead the quality engineering function on new and current programs.

You will coordinate DFMEA/PFMEA activities, develop quality documents, and ensure PPAP packages meet customer requirements. The role involves collaboration with design, program, and account teams, conducting gauge studies, and driving continuous improvement in quality across internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree / Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent experience.
• One year minimum experience in automotive industry.
• Skilled in reading and interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of automotive quality customer requirements.
• Ability to complete PPAP packages to customer requirements.
• SPC GD&T Calibration OMNEX

Responsibilities

• Leads the Quality Engineering Function on both new and current programs.
• Key interface with Divisional PT team (Design Engineers, Program Engineers, and Account Manager).
• Participates with the Program Engineer in the development of DFMEA considering lessons learned and warranty.
• Participates with the Manufacturing Engineer in the development of PFMEA considering lessons learned and warranty.
• Develops and implements quality documents for new product programs including control plans, inspection reports, master samples, visual aids, and work instructions.
• Establishes gauging requirements and fabrication of gauging approvals.
• Leads gauge studies (R&R) activities.
• Manages PPAP packages for internal and external customers.
• Provides customer liaison support for launch activities.
• Leads problem solving using Cooper Standard's processes; responds to customers in a timely manner.
