Job summary

Cooper Standard Automotive is seeking a Plant Quality Engineer to oversee quality control and planning for new and existing programs. The role acts as the quality representative on the Program Team, ensuring control plans, PFMEA, PPAP, inspection, gauging, and GD&T align with customer and company requirements.

The position requires an Engineering degree or CQE with automotive industry experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or CQE or equivalent experience.
• One year minimum experience in automotive industry.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of automotive quality customer requirements.
• Ability to complete PPAP packages to customer requirements.
• SPC and GD&T knowledge.
• Calibration knowledge (OMNEX).

Responsibilities

• Leads the Quality Engineering function on new and current programs.
• Interacts with Divisional PT team and program engineers.
• Participates in DFMEA development considering lessons learned and warranty.
• Participates in PFMEA development considering lessons learned and warranty.
• Develops and implements quality documents for new programs including control plans and reports.
• Establishes gauging requirements and approvals; leads gauge studies (R&R).
• Manages PPAP packages for internal and external customers.
• Provides customer liaison support for launches.
• Leads problem solving for quality issues.
• Collaborates with Purchasing, Engineering and others to resolve supplier quality issues.
• Publishes quality documents and containment actions to meet requirements.
• Plans, organizes, and manages receiving/outgoing quality activities.
• Supports safe launch of new parts and data-driven process improvements.
• Participates in change management and audits.
• Supports training of new manufacturing associates.
• Reviews quality reports to ensure conformance and drive improvements.
• Complies with ISO 14001/45001 standards and related policies.
