Job summary

Cooper Standard in Mexico is seeking a Plant Quality Engineer to manage quality control and planning for programs. You will act as the quality representative on the Program Team, ensuring control plans, PFMEA, PPAP, inspection, gauging, and GD&T align with customer and Cooper Standard requirements.

The role requires a engineering degree (CQE preferred) and at least 1 year in automotive, with strong skills in DFMEA/PFMEA, PPAP, SPC, GD&T, and calibration.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree and CQE or equivalent experience.
• One year minimum experience in automotive industry.
• Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of automotive quality customer requirements.
• Ability to complete PPAP packages to customer requirements.
• SPC and GD&T knowledge.
• Calibration and OMNEX experience.

Responsibilities

• Leads the Quality Engineering Function on both new and current programs as assigned.
• Interfaces with Divisional PT team (Design & Program Engineers, Account Manager).
• Participates in DFMEA considering lessons learned and warranty.
• Participates in PFMEA considering lessons learned and warranty.
• Develops and implements quality documents for new programs including control plans and inspection reports.
• Establishes gauging requirements and approvals; leads gauge studies (R&R).
• Manages PPAP packages for internal and external customers.
• Provides customer liaison support for launches and quality issues.
• Leads problem solving process for quality issues in Cooper Standard processes.
• Reviews quality reports and drives actions to improve part conformance to requirements.
