Caterpillar Inc. in Nuevo Laredo seeks a quality-focused inspector to perform advanced inspections, audits, and PPAP submissions to ensure conformance with the company’s quality standards.

The role collaborates with suppliers and internal teams, analyzes non-conformance data, supports audits, and helps drive continuous improvement; a BS in Engineering and 3+ years of related experience are required; this is a 6-month temporary position.

Formación

  • BS degree in Engineering.
  • 70% English level, written and oral communication.

Responsabilidades

  • Perform advanced inspection and audits to track, analyze, and report on materials, processes, and products.
  • Oversee MSA and SPC studies to prove inspection tools and processes are stable and accurate.
  • Compile and review PPAP submission elements for customer approval.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to fix quality issues and run initial production trials.
  • Support audits and follow up on corrective actions from audits.
  • Coordinate with quality engineers and project managers, maintaining thorough records.

Role Definition:
  • Performs advanced inspection and audits to track, analyze, and report on materials, processes, and products to ensure conformance to company's quality standards
  • Oversee Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) studies to prove that inspection tools and production processes are stable and accurate
  • Compile and review the standard 18 elements required for a PPAP submission, including design records, material test reports, and dimensional results
  • Work with suppliers, quality teams, and manufacturing staff to fix quality issues and run initial production trials.
  • Submit the final Part Submission Warrant (PSW) to get formal customer sign-off before shipping production parts.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Work in a team environment to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and provide for continuous improvements in meeting all customer requirements.
  • Conducting measurement systems analysis; gathering, analyzing, and communicating non-conformance data.
  • Analyzing non-conformance data and maintaining quality system documentation.
  • Participating in and offering technical support to internal and external audits; following up response of corrective action from audit.
  • Coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to gather necessary data, and ensuring all parts meet customer specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain close communication with quality engineers, manufacturing staff, and project managers. Staying organized and maintaining thorough records are key aspects of this role

Knowledge of Quality Management System's (QMS) functions, features, and capabilities; ability to design, implement, test, and maintain Quality Management Systems to consistently meet customer requirements and regulatory compliances.
Level Working Knowledge:

  • Adheres to the process, requirements, and documentation associated with QMS.
  • Contributes to the development of business case analysis for a new QMS functionality in the system.
  • Explains and analyzes quality indicators and metrics relevant to one's business unit or function.
  • Monitors key interfaces and criticalities related to QMS.
  • Reviews various QMS products and service providers available in the market and lists their applications.
