Job summary

Carrier is seeking a Quality Engineer to support manufacturing operations by driving product and process quality improvements, resolving defects, and preventing defects from reaching customers. You will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations to strengthen First Pass Yield and process capability.

The role emphasizes structured problem solving (5 Why, Fishbone, 8D) and updating PFMEAs and Control Plans based on lessons learned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Experience in Manufacturing Quality, Process Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, or related manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, Gage R&R, capability analysis, and structured problem solving.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and technical requirements.
• Strong analytical and statistical problem-solving skills.
• Experience leading root-cause and corrective-action activities.
• Ability to work directly with Manufacturing and Engineering teams on the production floor.
• Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure product and process quality across the manufacturing operation by proactively identifying risks and controlling process variation.
• Lead root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions using 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D, and Fault Tree methodologies.
• Update PFMEAs, Control Plans, inspection requirements, and process controls based on lessons learned.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Testing, and Operations to strengthen process capability and reduce defects.
• Drive problems beyond inspection and containment toward defect prevention and continuous improvement.
