Flex seeks a Quality Engineer in Guadalajara North to support SpinCo, focusing on AI data center digital infrastructure quality. You will develop standards for inspection and testing, direct data collection and reporting, and drive corrective actions across production and engineering teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, strong analytical skills, and advanced English, with knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC and FMEA. EMS experience and SMT know-how are highly preferred.

Job Summary

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we’re calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Quality Engineer located in Guadalajara North.

The “Quality Engineer” will be reporting to Quality Director……

In this role, you will be maintaining quality engineering programs, standards and improvements within the organization.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation.
  • Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost.
  • Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product or process quality and reliability.
  • Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
  • Holds up Product Engineers and Quality Program Managers with customer interfaces as necessary on quality related issues.
  • Assures data availability and integrity for all quality related data. Consolidates and reports quality results.
  • Initiates corrective action requests as needed and tracks to satisfactory completion.
  • Assists with development and implementation of quality audits.
  • In charge of developing, applying, revising and maintaining quality standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.
  • Designs and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and/or production equipment.
  • Explores reports and returned products and recommends corrective action.
  • Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement and research of equipment and facilities.
  • Approves product, process and equipment qualifications.
  • Provides liaison to various regulatory bodies.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate data, identify trends, and provide effective support to cross-functional teams.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
  • Advanced knowledge of Quality Tools and Methodologies, including:
  • 8D Problem Solving
  • Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC)
  • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Statistical Analysis and Data Interpretation
  • Experience in the electronics manufacturing industry (EMS) is highly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and Backend manufacturing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with production, quality, engineering, and operations teams.
