Gentherm México seeks a Quality Engineer to drive complaint management, corrective actions, and quality documentation in a fast-paced automotive environment. You will liaise with production, engineering, and maintenance to ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO standards.

The role emphasizes customer focus, proactive problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration to improve processes and prevent defects. English proficiency is required for global communication.

Formación

  • Automotive quality standards knowledge (IATF 16949).
  • Experience with APQP/PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC.
  • Audit experience (LPA, internal/external).
  • Familiarity with IMDS, SAP and customer portals.

Responsabilidades

  • Respond to and manage customer complaints with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Issue and manage quality documentation: PPAP, IMDS, engineering changes, deviations.
  • Coordinate follow-up on customer complaints with Production, Engineering, maintenance, and testing teams.
  • Analyze non-quality costs related to customer issues and charges.
  • Lead and communicate quality status in customer meetings and audits.

Quality Engineer

IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY


This position is essential for customer relations, ensuring trust, transparency, and meeting expectations. Proper complaint management, corrective actions, and quality documentation avoid penalties, strengthen the company's image, and ensure business continuity. The Quality Engineer provides the opportunity to become the voice of the customer within the plant, influencing the quality strategy and improving internal processes. Additionally, they develop key skills for future positions as Customer Quality Manager or Quality Leader in the automotive industry.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Respond to and follow up on customer complaints, ensuring root cause analysis and defining corrective/preventive actions.

  • Issue and manage quality documentation: PPAP, IMDS, engineering changes, and deviations.

  • Coordinate and follow up on customer complaints, ensuring their implementation and closure.

  • Analyze and document non-quality costs for customer complaints, debits, and charges.

  • Follow up on customer issues and coordinate solutions with internal departments (Production, Engineering, maintenance, electrical testing).

  • Ensure the closure of customer audit findings and LPAs within the agreed timeframe.

  • Participate and represent the company in customer meetings, on-site visits, and external audits.

  • Monitor, follow up, and improve the results of customer scorecards.

  • Generate and communicate executive reports on the quality status with the customer.



  1. Maintain open, timely, and professional communication with customer.

  2. Ensure the correct application of problem analysis methodologies (8D, 5Why, Ishikawa, FMEA).

  3. Validate and document evidence of corrective action completion before customer closure.

  4. Coordinate the preparation of quality deliverables for deviations, engineering changes, or customer requests.

  5. Comply with automotive quality management system (IATF 1694) and environmental management system (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001) requirements.

  6. Comply with specific customer requirements.

  7. Lead the response in critical customer situations, ensuring immediate containment and preventing additional leaks.

  8. Provide information on non-quality costs and liabilities to finance and management.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Automotive standards: IATF 16949

  • PCBA standards: IPC-A-610

  • Core tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC

  • Internal and external audits, LPA

  • Indicator management (external PPM)

  • Customer complaint management and problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5Why)

  • Document management tools: IMDS, SAP, customer portals
