Caterpillar Inc. in Mexico is seeking a Project Manager Leader to plan, coordinate, and execute strategic initiatives that support business objectives and drive operational excellence.

You will partner with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and on budget, while guiding a high‑performing team. This position is based in Santa Catarina, Nuevo León, Mexico, onsite five days per week; visa sponsorship and relocation

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Advanced English proficiency is required for this role.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead and oversee multiple projects and programs to meet objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coach and develop project management professionals in a high-performing team.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align priorities and remove barriers.
  • Establish project governance, standards, and best practices across initiatives.
  • Monitor performance, budgets, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Communicate project status and key decisions to leadership.
  • Lead change management and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement of PM processes and tools.
  • Influence decisions and build partnerships to achieve goals.
  • Ensure effective resource planning and allocation.

Job Summary:

As a Project Manager Leader , you will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing strategic initiatives that support business objectives and drive operational excellence. You will partner with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and on budget.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to lead high-impact projects from concept to completion, identify and mitigate risks, manage project resources, and drive continuous improvement across processes and operations. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong communication skills, a passion for problem-solving, and the ability to influence and align teams toward common goals.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead and oversee multiple projects and programs, ensuring successful delivery against business objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Manage, coach, and develop project management professionals while fostering a high-performing team environment.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align priorities, remove barriers, and drive project success.
  • Establish and maintain project governance, standards, and best practices across initiatives.
  • Monitor project performance, resources, budgets, and risks, implementing mitigation plans when needed.
  • Communicate project status, milestones, and key decisions to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Lead change management efforts and support the successful implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement by enhancing project management processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Influence decision-making and build strong partnerships across teams to achieve business goals.
  • Ensure effective resource planning and allocation to support project and program objectives.
Education requirement:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Advanced English proficiency is required for this role.

  • Extensive knowledge of project risk assessment, mitigation planning, and strategic decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Proven success in using data and performance metrics to drive business outcomes and project execution.

Influencing:

  • Demonstrated ability to gain alignment and commitment from stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
  • Proven success  in presenting recommendations, business cases, and project updates to leadership teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of change management principles and stakeholder engagement strategies.

Cross-Team Integration:

  • Extensive knowledge of leading cross-functional initiatives involving Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, and Operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative partnerships across business units, sites, and regions.
  • Working knowledge of facilitation techniques that drive effective team collaboration and project execution.

Resource Management:

  • Extensive knowledge of project budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple projects and priorities while optimizing resource utilization.
  • Proven success in leading project teams and coordinating internal and external resources to achieve business objectives.

  • This position is based in Santa Catarina, Nuevo León, Mexico.
  • This role requires an on-site presence five days per week.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this opportunity.
