Program Engineer – Automotive PMO

About the Role

We are looking for a Program Engineer to join a new Program Management Office based in Puebla. This position will support the planning, coordination and execution of automotive programs by maintaining visibility of milestones, deliverables, risks and open actions.

The role will work closely with Program Managers and cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain and Finance.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the planning and execution of assigned automotive programs and product launches.
• Maintain program schedules, milestones, action plans and deliverable trackers.
• Follow up with cross-functional teams to ensure commitments are completed on time.
• Track program risks, changes and potential delays, escalating issues when necessary.
• Coordinate and monitor APQP deliverables across the different functions.
• Prepare program status reports, presentations, dashboards and review materials.
• Support internal and customer meetings, including agenda preparation and action follow-up.
• Maintain accurate program documentation and information in the corresponding systems.
• Support the tracking of engineering changes, program costs and key performance indicators.
• Contribute to the standardization and continuous improvement of PMO tools and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience supporting automotive programs, projects, product launches, NPI or program engineering activities.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP and automotive launch processes.
• Strong planning, organization and follow-up skills.
• Ability to identify risks and coordinate multiple activities and stakeholders.
• Advanced English communication skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and project-tracking tools.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Program Management Office or centralized program-management structure.
• Exposure to OEM customers or international stakeholders.
• Experience coordinating projects involving different plants or locations.
• Basic understanding of program costs and financial indicators.
