Job summary

FORVIA HELLA is a listed international automotive supplier. We are looking for a Program Purchasing Buyer to negotiate supplier frame contracts, manage RfQs, and ensure alignment with production goals in Mexico.

The role requires traveling up to 5–10 suppliers per year, collaborating with logistics, and driving improvement across the supplier base while maintaining strong communication with internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
• 3+ years of purchasing experience.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• SAP and Ariba Purchasing module experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel 5–10 suppliers per year.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate supplier frame contracts and issue RfQs.
• Analyze suppliers to identify improvement opportunities and define qualification measures.
• Own and analyze company projections and supplier bandwidth to meet production goals.
• Process company POs and negotiate contract terms.
• Support transition from Operative to Strategic Purchasing.
• Coordinate with Logistics to manage deliveries and Schedule Agreements.

YOUR TASKS

PROGRAM PURCHASING BUYER

• Negotiate supplier frame contracts, define sourcing concept and realize sourcing activities incl. but not limited to sending RfQs, negotiating and nominating suppliers for tools and components within the material group (new projects, lifetime extensions, change management, etc.)
• Analyze the suppliers in order to identify opportunities for improvement and derive corresponding qualification measures, involving internal organizational units, in order to optimize the process chain between the supplier and Forvia Hella.
• Own and analyze all company projections and supplier bandwidth to achieve production goals
• Process company PO’s and successfully negotiate contract terms.
• Participate in the transfer of responsibility from Operative Purchasing to Strategic Purchasing
• Collaborated closely with Logistics teams to manage deliveries, resolve EDI-related issues, and coordinate Schedule Agreements to ensure supply continuity and operational efficiency.
• Actively work to find outside of the box solutions
• Achieve all required assigned project milestones
• Forge meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering or related field
• 3+ years of relevant experience conducting purchasing activities
• General computer and software skills (Excel, Word, Power Point)
• SAP and Ariba Purchasing module experience is preferred but not required
• Open to traveling up to 5-10 supplier per year
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluent English
