Job summary

Flex is seeking a Production Supervisor to join our Guadalajara, South Campus team. You will report to the Production Manager and direct manufacturing operations on one or more lines to hit volume, quality, and cost goals.

You’ll manage engineers and operators, coach performance, troubleshoot issues, and drive cost- and efficiency-improving projects while ensuring safety and compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
• Experience as Production Supervisor.
• Strong experience as leader.
• Experience in electronic manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of production control systems (Serials, flows, traceability).
• Experience with floor shop systems and SMT processes.

Responsibilities

• Direct the manufacturing operations for a shift or group of lines to meet volume, quality, and cost goals.
• Manage a team of engineers and operators to achieve performance targets.
• Review plant performance, identify issues, and implement efficiency improvements.
• Coach operators, train personnel, and ensure safety guidelines are followed.
• Coordinate with maintenance and project teams on improvements and cost initiatives.
• Prioritize production schedules to meet customer requirements and product introductions.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Production Supervisor located in Guadalajara, South Campus.

Reporting to Production Manager, Production Supervisor this role involves is responsible for directing the manufacturing operations performed in a shift or group of production lines, ensuring they reach volume, quality, and cost goals.

What a typical day looks like:

• Responsible for the production of several processes/lines in a highly technical environment.
• Manages a team of professionals (e.g., engineers/officers) to meet quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness requirements.
• Reviews daily/regularly plant operating performance, evaluate areas that may be impacting performance, and advise on changes in operating conditions that will improve efficiencies/quality.
• Troubleshoots/analyses operational problems and advises on their resolution. Holds regular discussions with operators to coach performance and improve operational understanding/capability.
• Evaluate ideas for plant improvements and work with qualified engineers to develop project proposals to encourage improvements and changes.
• Provides technical/operational advice to project teams.
• May act as principal interface between the operation team and the maintenance function.
• May train and coach junior operators and junior team supervisors
• Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply to meet customer requirements.
• Initiates and participates in process development and cost improvement projects.
• Assists in department budget planning and manage department expenses.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Ensures compliance of standards.
• Ensure that all manufacturing area personnel are trained and certified in their specific functions.
• Ensure that all manufacturing personnel adhere to all safety guidelines.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
• Experience as Production Supervisor.
• Strong experience as leader.
• Intermediate English is a plus.
• Experience in similar position in electronic manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of production control systems (Serials, flows, traceability).
• Knowledge in specifications and standards related to electronics
• Experience in the use of Floor shop systems.
• Experience in SMT processes and mechanical assemblies.
• Experience in BAAN system (or SAP).
