Job summary

Optima Organizational Solutions' client, a global consumer products manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead operations at its Tijuana facility. You will oversee daily manufacturing activities, drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of manufacturing leadership, a Lean/Six Sigma background, and experience managing multiple supervisors and large hourly

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
• Minimum 3 years leading production operations in high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience managing multiple production supervisors and large hourly workforces.
• Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and problem-solving methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to improve KPIs through data-driven decision making.
• Experience working within ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
• Availability to work in Tijuana, Baja California.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations.
• Drive operational excellence by improving productivity, quality, efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Ensure production schedules are executed on time while meeting customer expectations.
• Develop and mentor production supervisors and frontline leaders to build high-performing teams.
• Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Monitor and improve KPIs, including productivity, scrap, labor efficiency, downtime, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout the operation.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Planning, HR, and Finance to optimize plant performance.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production, quality, and operational issues.
• Manage labor planning, staffing requirements, and workforce development initiatives.
• Support new product introductions and manufacturing process improvements.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets while controlling manufacturing costs.
• Foster employee engagement and maintain positive employee relations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.
