Job summary

Parker in Mexico seeks a Product Engineer to manage the technical lifecycle of hydraulic actuator products from design release through full-scale production and continuous improvement. The role oversees transfer readiness, validation, and configuration control across machining, welding, assembly, testing, and packaging.

You will lead engineering change management, DFx reviews, and cost optimization while collaborating with production teams to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Design Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related.
• 4+ years in Product Engineering, Design.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems is required.
• Experience with hydraulic products and fluid-power components is preferred.
• Experience with heavy mechanical assemblies involving machined components, gears, weldments, seals, hydraulic ports, and testing is preferred.
• Problem solving through statistical techniques (boxplots, DOE).
• Understanding of design, manufacturing processes, and engineering documentation.
• Familiarity with PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP, and PPAP.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• ERP/MRP experience and BOM management.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• C1 English level.
• Continues improvement mindset; ownership and results focus; team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support new product launches from design release through production ramp-up.
• Lead technical readiness for transfer, launch, and sustained production in Mexico.
• Ensure transfer activities preserve design intent and function.
• Develop knowledge of hydraulic product configurations and failure modes.
• Lead resolution of manufacturing, assembly, test, supplier, and warranty issues.
• Review designs for manufacturability and cost optimization.
• Lead engineering change management (ECRs/ECNs).
• Coordinate validation activities including testing and reliability studies.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to develop robust processes.
• Investigate and resolve quality issues using root cause analysis.
• Support customer inquiries and corrective actions.
• Maintain product documentation (drawings, BOMs, specs).
• Drive cost reduction and product improvement initiatives.
• Participate in PFMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP activities.
• Support supplier qualification and component approval.
• Analyze field returns and failure trends to improve reliability.
• Ensure compliance with industry and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to production, quality and service teams.
