Siemens Energy is seeking a Commodity Manager in Querétaro to lead strategic purchasing for CAPEX Production Equipment. You will negotiate contracts, organize global requirements pooling, and drive cross-division cost analyses while enhancing investment processes.

The role requires extensive purchasing experience, strong English and intercultural skills, and a proactive, network-building mindset for global collaboration. This is a 12-month contract-based position located on site in Querétaro.

Formación

• Bachelor or higher in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related commercial program with technical knowledge.
• Many years of professional purchasing experience, including cross-functional project deployments.
• Strong knowledge of production machinery purchasing, contracts, and manufacturing tech; MS Office and SAP proficiency.
• Fluent written and spoken English; intercultural sensitivity with international experience a plus.

A Snapshot Of Your Day

As a Commodity Manager your daily tasks will include managing the cost-effective supply of Production Equipment (CAPEX) in line with company processes based on business requirements. You will collaborate with colleagues from all Siemens Energy Business Areas as well as other collaborators around the globe. With your experience you will play a vital role in developing commodity strategies for sourcing that meet business objectives and ensure the implementation. As part of the broader Indirect Material organization, you will be embedded in our divers and energized team.

• Ensure strategic purchasing for CAPEX investments in Production Equipment
• Negotiate pricing and contracts, implementing innovative strategies and managing claims
• Organize global pooling of requirements to leverage purchasing power across projects
• Optimize the cross-functional investment process and support global investment strategies
• Analyze requirements and markets, build a strong supplier portfolio, and lead lifecycle cost analyses
• Facilitate knowledge transfer and foster a collaborative team environment while managing data across divisions

What You Bring

• Successfully completed studies in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a commercial program of study with corresponding technical knowledge
• Many years of professional experience in purchasing as well as cross-functional experience gained through project deployment in an adjacent functional area
• Excellent knowledge of production machinery purchasing and its processes, combined with very good commercial, contract law and manufacturing technology knowledge as well as familiarity with MS Office and SAP
• Very good spoken and written English.
• Intercultural sensitivity, ideally experience abroad
• Creative, assertive, analytical and motivational attitude driven by customer orientation with strong negotiating and decision-making skills and the ability to build networks
• This position will be offered on a temporary 12-month contract
