Flex is seeking a Process Engineer in Guadalajara, North Campus, to lead installation, maintenance, and optimization of SMT lines. You will support pilot and production operations, maximize uptime, and drive continuous improvements across equipment and processes.

The role reports to the Equipment Maintenance Manager and requires strong troubleshooting, calibration, and mentoring skills to guide a team of Maintenance Technicians in a compliant, safety-focused environment.

Formación

• BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
• Experience as Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Equipment Engineer, or Maintenance Engineer in electronics manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of SMT manufacturing processes.
• Experience supporting Back End manufacturing processes.
• Experience with equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance.
• Knowledge of equipment qualification, calibration, and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Strong root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving skills.
• People management skills.

Responsabilidades

• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures involving mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software systems.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on SMT manufacturing equipment.
• Install, commission, validate, relocate, transfer, and debug production equipment and manufacturing lines.
• Provide hands‑on technical support for SMT and Back end operations.
• Lead installation activities for SMT lines, Edge Bonding equipment, SCP equipment, and Reflow Ovens.
• Conduct equipment calibrations, qualifications, and re‑certifications per established schedules.
• Monitor equipment performance and implement corrective actions to improve uptime and reliability.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment logs, downtime reports, and technical documentation.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Process, Quality, and Operations teams to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate activities with equipment vendors and external service providers.
• Support pilot builds, NPI projects, equipment transfers, and capacity expansion projects.
• Lead and mentor a team of Maintenance Technicians.
• Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Train technicians, operators, and maintenance personnel on process standards and equipment best practices.

Reporting to the Equipment Maintenance Manager, the Process Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, transfer, and optimization of SMT. This role supports pilot and production operations by ensuring equipment reliability, maximizing uptime, and leading equipment-related continuous improvement initiatives. The position also provides technical leadership to maintenance technicians and supports new equipment installations, line transfers, and manufacturing startup activities.

What a typical day looks like:

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
