Nemak is seeking a Process Engineer to stabilize and optimize manufacturing processes, resolve technical and quality issues, and drive continuous improvement in collaboration with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams.

The role focuses on reducing waste, improving cycle times, and ensuring safety and quality with standard work and data-driven decision making.

Formación

  • Bachelors degree in industrial, mechanical, mechatronics, electrical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive manufacturing.
  • 2+ years in aluminum casting, machining, or assembly processes.
  • Experience with APQP/PPAP and quality assurance standards (IATF 16949).
  • Strong analytical, communication, teamwork and corrective-action skills.

Responsabilidades

  • Analyze production losses and bottlenecks to improve OEE, cycle times, capacity and line efficiency.
  • Reduce scrap and defects through root-cause analysis, PFMEA, control plans and corrective actions.
  • Lead cost-saving initiatives focused on materials, labor, energy, and waste reduction.
  • Implement Lean and Six Sigma projects including Kaizen events and process audits.
  • Support new product launches through process design, trials, PPAP, equipment readiness, and ramp-up.
  • Ensure processes meet safety, environmental, ergonomic and quality standards.
  • Develop standard work, work instructions, visual aids and training materials.
  • Use process data and digital tools to identify opportunities and validate results.

Process Engineer

Objective

Ensure stable, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing processes by resolving technical and quality issues, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement in close collaboration with Production, Quality, and Maintenance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Analyze production losses and bottlenecks to improve OEE, cycle times, capacity, and line efficiency.
  • Reduce scrap, rework, and process variation through root cause analysis, SPC, PFMEA, control plans, and corrective actions.
  • Lead cost-saving initiatives focused on materials, labor, energy, consumables, and waste reduction.
  • Implement Lean and Six Sigma projects, including Kaizen events, process audits, and structured problem-solving activities.
  • Support new product launches through process design, trials, PPAP, equipment readiness, and ramp-up stabilization.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes meet safety, environmental, ergonomic, and quality standards.
  • Develop standard work, work instructions, visual aids, and training materials for operators and technicians.
  • Use process data and digital monitoring tools to identify improvement opportunities and validate results.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing.
  • 2+ years of experience in aluminum casting, machining, and/or assembly processes.
  • 2+ years of experience with APQP and quality assurance processes.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, and SPC), and quality management standards such as IATF 16949.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and corrective-action skills.
  • Experience in a metallurgical laboratory is preferred.
