Job summary

Molex Guadalajara is seeking an Optics Connectivity Process Engineer to lead production process design and optimization for the optical connectivity segment. You will drive tooling, layouts, and technology implementations, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet plant objectives.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in fiber optic process engineering, strong statistical skills, and knowledge of 8D/PDCA/DMAIC; English proficiency is required for global collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Industrial, Mechatronic, Photonic Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years in process engineering, NPI, or product engineering on fiber optic projects.
  • Solid knowledge in optical connector assembly.
  • Skills with quality and problem-solving tools (8D, PDCA, DMAIC).
  • Strong statistical knowledge and conversational English.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage production processes for Optical Connectivity.
  • Design, quote, and optimize tooling and peripherals for manufacturing.
  • Document standard processes and train staff per QMS guidelines.
  • Develop line balancing projects and improve standard times.
  • Implement engineering changes and optimize layouts.
  • Introduce new technologies and methods into manufacturing.
  • Support 5S, EHS, Quality, and Lean programs; suggest improvements.

Job description

Join our team as an Optics Connectivity Process Engineer at Molex Guadalajara and become a key player in the continuous improvement of production processes in the optical connectivity segment. You will lead the design, optimization, and implementation of processes, tools, and new technologies, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and customers to drive innovation and meet plant objectives.

What You Will Do
  • Design, implement, and manage production processes for the Optical Connectivity segment.
  • Design, quote, and optimize tooling and peripherals required for manufacturing.
  • Document standard processes and train operational staff according to the guidelines of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Develop line balancing projects and improve standard times.
  • Carry out the technical implementation of engineering changes.
  • Design and optimize production layouts.
  • Introduce new technologies and methods into manufacturing processes.
  • Actively support 5S, EHS, Quality, and Lean programs by adhering to all approved practices and procedures, participating in cleaning activities, and proposing improvements.
  • Fulfill the responsibilities and authorities specified in the control plans associated with the position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Who You Are (Basic Requirements)
  • Degree in Industrial, Mechatronic, Photonic Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in process engineering, New Product Introduction, or product engineering on fiber optic projects.
  • Solid knowledge in optical connector assembly.
  • Skills with quality and problem-solving tools (8D, PDCA, DMAIC).
  • Strong statistical knowledge.
  • Conversational English proficiency.

  • Experience in fiber optic manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in technical-level Project Management.
  • Previous experience working with fiber optic products.
