Ford México in Hermosillo, Sonora, is seeking a Process Control Engineer (PCE) to lead hourly production teams in the Final Assembly area. You will drive safe shift start-up and shutdown, train personnel for versatility, and manage scheduling and PeopleSoft administration.

• Experience leading hourly/production teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem-solving background using structured methodologies (Six Sigma, DMAIC).

Responsabilidades

Job Description

The PCE is responsible for the daily leadership and coaching of hourly production personnel in the Final Assembly area, ensuring safe and effective shift start-up and shutdown, personnel training and versatility development, and standardized work compliance at all levels. This role reports to the TM Production and supervises hourly team members. The PCE actively drives continuous improvement through participation in engineering trials, new process launches, DMAIC projects, and Six Sigma-based problem solving, while collaborating closely with Maintenance, Tooling, Dimensional, Incoming Quality, VRT, Body, Paint, Quality, and Cost teams.

Responsibilities

• Confirm safe start-up and shutdown of the shift.
• Train personnel for versatility and manage vacation/absenteeism scheduling.
• Perform basic Peoplesoft administration (vacations, absences, overtime, work shifts, etc.).
• Manage change smoothly during line rebalancing.
• Participate in engineering trials and support new process launches.
• Train team leaders on different programs and platforms.
• Solve problems using Six Sigma tools and participate in DMAIC projects.
• Track and improve scrap priorities and address the line's top constraint.
• Confirm 5S compliance and maintenance in the work area.
• Support recurring Quality concerns/calls.
• Ensure standardized work compliance at all levels, including deep knowledge of abnormality handling for base technicians and TDM band compliance.
• Personnel management: shift start-up/shutdown confirmation, training, scheduling, and Peoplesoft administration.
• Continuous improvement: engineering trials, new process launches, DMAIC/Six Sigma problem solving, scrap and top constraint follow-up.
• Standardized work: ensure standardization at all levels, dimensional confirmation process, TDM band compliance.
• 5S and workplace organization: confirm and sustain 5S standards.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Maintenance, Tooling, Dimensional, Incoming Quality, VRT, Body, Paint, Quality, and Costs teams.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a production environment (automotive manufacturing preferred).
• Experience leading and coaching hourly/production teams.
• Strong problem-solving background using structured methodologies (Six Sigma, Global 8D).
• Ability to manage personnel scheduling and basic HR system administration.
