Job summary

Aspen Technology, Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Developer to join the Manufacturing and Supply Chain (MSC) Engineering organization in Mexico City.

You will provide technical leadership for cross-cutting capabilities across planning, scheduling, optimization, production, and supply chain workflows, while guiding design, implementation, and modernization efforts. Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Typically 8+ years of professional software development experience, including technical leadership for enterprise or industrial products.
• Experience with C#/.NET/Java, APIs, data persistence, distributed systems, and modern architecture practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for cross-team capabilities across the MSC product suite from problem definition to delivery.
• Lead architecture and design decisions aligning implementation with product strategy and system architecture.
• Develop and review critical software components, prototypes, interfaces, and technical designs; maintain and modernize existing codebases.
• Drive engineering excellence in code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, performance, reliability, and secure design.
• Mentor senior engineers and feature leads; promote reusable patterns and cross-team collaboration.
