Job summary

LawnStarter seeks a Principal Quality Engineer to own and evolve the quality strategy across squads. You will lead the QA squad, advance AI-native tooling, and shape engineering standards to ensure high-quality software as the company expands its home services platform.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will drive QA best practices, mentor engineers, and influence the technical roadmap while balancing hands-on contribution and strategic leadership.

Qualifications

• AI-native approach to quality assurance and testing.
• Hands-on experience across the test pyramid (unit to E2E).
• Ability to design and improve QA standards and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the quality strategy with the QA team and leadership.
• Upgrade AI-native tooling and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor QA engineers across squads and influence performance reviews.
• Define quality contracts across teams and ensure measurable quality improvements.
• Build dashboards and production quality signals used by engineering teams.
