Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) in Mexico seeks a senior electrical engineer focused on power systems to lead complex projects across protection, automation, and commissioning. You will design, install, and optimize SEL protection and automation solutions, mentor teams, train customers, and collaborate with engineering to deliver safe, reliable systems with strong documentation.

Travel up to 25% internationally and domestically, contribute to proposals, and apply SEL Values and World

Qualifications

• B.S. In Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
• 5+ years relevant application experience with electric power systems, industry practices, and focus area practices and philosophies.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electric power system protection and control, integration and/or automation and communications applications.
• Demonstrated proven knowledge of electric power system design, studies, information and communication technology and protective relay applications.
• Willing to travel both domestically and internationally a minimum of 25% based on focus area.

Responsibilities

• Possesses, understands and applies knowledge of power system focus area and SEL products to complex assignments.
• Lead in training and assisting customers with the creation, design configuration, validation, installation, commissioning and operation of automation and/or protection systems.
• Lead in assigning, completing and implementing work within scope, schedule and budget to a high level of quality and safety.
• Assist in identifying, preparing and presenting proposals for SEL equipment, services, and systems.
• Mentor and develop professional staff; may supervise as necessary.
• Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
