Atradius is seeking a skilled Head of Policy Underwriting in Mexico City to lead underwriting for new business, renewals, and policy changes. The role ensures adherence to authority levels, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements while managing audits and AML initiatives.

The candidate will develop the underwriting team, analyze portfolios, and drive profitability in a dynamic international environment. Strong English and leadership are essential.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Actuarial Science, Accounting, or a related field, with specialization in Risk Management, Insurance, or Finance.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in insurance, credit, banking, financial risk, or underwriting; at least 2 years leading underwriting teams or technical departments.
• Knowledge of insurance underwriting, credit insurance, regulatory compliance and anti-money laundering; advanced English.

• Administer and maintain broker files; analyze commissions paid to intermediaries/brokers.
• Develop and train the underwriting team.
• Conduct portfolio and profitability analysis.

Department Description

Policy Underwriting is responsible for assessing risks, evaluating policy applications, and ensuring underwriting decisions align with company guidelines to support profitable and sustainable business growth.

In this position your key responsibilities will be:

• Lead and oversee underwriting processes for new business, renewals, and policy modifications.
• Ensure that underwriting decisions are aligned with authority levels and corporate policies.
• Oversee compliance with regulatory processes, including KYC, CDD, anti-money laundering, and documentation requirements.
• Manage internal/external audits and corporate projects related to underwriting and anti-money laundering.
• Administer, manage, and keep broker files up to date. Analyze commissions paid to intermediaries/brokers.
• Develop and train the underwriting team.
• Conduct portfolio and profitability analysis.

What qualification should you have?

The ideal candidate will have the following profile:

Required qualifications:

• Education
  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Actuarial Science, Accounting, or a related field.
  Specialization in Risk Management, Insurance, or Finance.
• Experience
  3 years of experience in insurance, credit, banking, financial risk, or underwriting.
  At least 2 years leading underwriting teams or technical departments.
• Technical Knowledge
  Insurance underwriting and/or credit insurance.
  Technical underwriting in various insurance lines.
  Regulatory compliance and anti-money laundering.
  Advanced English.
