Job summary

Atradius is seeking an experienced underwriting leader in Mexico City to oversee risk assessment for new business, renewals, and policy changes within a global insurer network. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, AML controls, and portfolio profitability.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in finance/economics or related field, 3 years in insurance/credit risk, and 2+ years leading underwriting teams. Strong English is required and a dynamic, international environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Actuarial Science, Accounting, or related field.
• Specialization in Risk Management, Insurance, or Finance.
• 3 years of experience in insurance, credit, banking, financial risk, or underwriting.
• At least 2 years leading underwriting teams or technical departments.
• Advanced English.

• Lead and oversee underwriting processes for new business, renewals, and policy modifications.
• Ensure underwriting decisions align with authority levels and corporate policies.
• Oversee compliance with regulatory processes, including KYC, CDD, anti-money laundering, and documentation requirements.
• Manage internal/external audits and corporate projects related to underwriting and anti-money laundering.
• Administer, manage, and keep broker files up to date. Analyze commissions paid to intermediaries/brokers.
• Develop and train the underwriting team.
• Conduct portfolio and profitability analysis.

Department Description

Policy Underwriting is responsible for assessing risks, evaluating policy applications, and ensuring underwriting decisions align with company guidelines to support profitable and sustainable business growth.

Required qualifications:

• Education
  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Actuarial Science, Accounting, or a related field.
  Specialization in Risk Management, Insurance, or Finance.
• Experience
  3 years of experience in insurance, credit, banking, financial risk, or underwriting.
  At least 2 years leading underwriting teams or technical departments.
• Technical Knowledge
  Insurance underwriting and/or credit insurance.
  Technical underwriting in various insurance lines.
  Regulatory compliance and anti-money laundering.
  Advanced English.
