United Pipeline Systems, Inc. seeks a Plastics Engineer to lead rotational lining operations, optimizing molding processes and product quality. You will collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve throughput and consistency.

Responsibilities include developing process parameters, documenting specifications, and leading root-cause investigations using FMEA, SPC, and DOE methods. Travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Plastics/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 3–7+ years of plastics processing/manufacturing experience.
• Hands-on experience with rotational molding and thermoplastic processing.
• Strong understanding of thermoplastic material behavior and processing parameters.
• Ability to analyze process data and drive practical improvements.

Responsabilités

• Provide engineering ownership and day-to-day technical support for the rotational lining machine and process from material preparation through heating, rotation, cooling, inspection, and finished-product evaluation.
• Develop, document, and optimize rotational lining parameters including temperature profiles, heating time, rotational speed, cooling cycles, material loading, and part positioning.
• Establish process windows and standards for consistent lining thickness, coverage, surface quality, and finished-product integrity.
• Troubleshoot defects and process variation (uneven thickness, incomplete coverage, voids, surface defects, degradation).
• Evaluate thermoplastic materials and understand how properties, powder characteristics, processing temperatures, and history affect finished lining.
• Collaborate with operators and leadership to improve cycle time, throughput, scrap/rework, and overall OEE.
• Support equipment design, modification, and improvement of rotational lining equipment, fixtures, tooling, controls, and instrumentation.
• Work with maintenance to identify causes of variation and set preventive maintenance/calibration requirements.
• Develop and maintain process documentation and inspection criteria.
• Establish inspection/testing methods for lined products and analyze quality data for trends and corrective actions.
• Lead root-cause investigations and continuous-improvement projects using FMEA, SPC, DOE, and Lean methods.
• Support development/qualification of new lined products and configurations.
• Provide technical training to operators and maintenance personnel.
• Travel to project sites as required.
