Michael Page is seeking a Plant Manager in Mexico to lead a new complex manufacturing operation. You will oversee Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, EHS, and Materials Management, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer expectations.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead all plant operations across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, Inventory and Customer Satisfaction metrics.
  • Develop and execute the site operating strategy aligned with growth objectives.
  • Drive accountability, discipline, continuous improvement and employee engagement.
  • Oversee manufacturing including sheet metal fabrication, welding, structural assembly, painting, mechanical assembly, electrical installation and testing.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Program Management for readiness of new products and capacity expansion.
  • Drive NPI, production transfers, process improvements and scalability.
  • Implement Lean tools and standard work to improve efficiency and safety.
  • Establish a strong safety culture and regulatory/environmental compliance.
  • Develop leadership and succession planning; act as primary operations rep for customers.

Our client is a fast-growing company within the electrical manufacturing industry, focused on delivering highly engineered electrical infrastructure solutions to customers across multiple sectors. As part of its continued expansion in Mexico, the company is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead a new complex manufacturing operation.

Job Description

The Plant Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, and continuous improvement of the manufacturing facility. This position will oversee all plant functions, including Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, EHS, and Materials Management, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer expectations.The successful candidate will bring a strong combination of electrical manufacturing and metal-mechanical manufacturing experience, with expertise managing engineered-to-order, project-driven, or high-mix/low-volume operations.

  • Lead all plant operations, ensuring performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, Inventory, and Customer Satisfaction metrics.
  • Develop and execute the site operating strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
  • Drive accountability, operational discipline, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
  • Lead manufacturing operations involving sheet metal fabrication, welding, structural assembly, industrial painting, mechanical assembly, electrical installation, wiring, controls integration, testing, and final product integration.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Program Management teams to ensure manufacturing readiness for new products, customer projects, and capacity expansion initiatives.
  • Drive New Product Introduction (NPI), production transfers, process improvements, and operational scalability.
  • Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing tools including 5S, Visual Management, Standard Work, Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Improve plant efficiency, labor productivity, throughput, quality performance, and manufacturing flow.
  • Establish and maintain a strong safety environment while ensuring compliance with regulatory and environmental requirements.
  • Develop and coach a high-performing leadership team while building organizational capability and succession plans.
  • Act as the primary operational representative for key customers and lead cross-functional initiatives to ensure customer commitments are achieved.
The Successful Applicant
A Successful Plant Manager Should Have
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • MBA or Master's Degree is a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
  • At least 5 years in a Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Director, or equivalent senior leadership role.
  • Solid understanding of metal-mechanical manufacturing processes:
    • Sheet Metal Fabrication
    • Welding Processes
    • Machining
    • Painting and Coating Operations
    • Mechanical Assembly
  • As well as experience with:
    • Electrical Assembly
    • Industrial Wiring
    • Electrical Testing & Validation
  • Proven success leading plant growth, operational transformation, capacity expansion, or manufacturing transfers.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Advanced English communication skills.
