Job summary

Sonoco's Querétaro RPC Plant is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance on machinery and electrical and mechanical systems. You will diagnose issues, conduct repairs, and maintain detailed work orders to minimize downtime while ensuring safety standards are met.

The role requires hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, along with proficiency in tools and diagnostic equipment. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Technical certification or associate degree in a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational issues and implement effective solutions.
• Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty components to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and inventory usage.
• Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance procedures and schedules.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
